Phonics for Farsi Morphemes: A symbol for a sound

In which we reveal that the genius of an alphabet is to use a symbol to represent a sound.

  • International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)
The IPA was first published in 1888 by the International Phonetic Association. The aim of the organisation was to devise a system for transcribing the sounds of speech which was independent of any particular language and applicable to all languages. Check out the web page and be thankful we are not transliterating with the IPA.
