With our magnet kits, all is not lost in translation. In fact, a lot can be gained. First of all, our brains are getting stronger because we're using them to jump between two languages. Studies have shown that bi-lingualism boosts the brain and keeps the mind sharp into old age.

Creativity is also sparked by bilingual activities. The concept of Simorqanizing, for example, is bi-lingual.

The first sentence my cousin and I came up with using the "Standard" magnet kit was:

"Aqebat vahm-e AqA fazA xandid" - e.g., "In the end, Mr. Space's imagination laughed."

Who knew space was a "Mr." and that his imagination could laugh? The fact that it laughs "in the end" provoked conversation about the big bang theory, cosmology and universal consciousness. As we debated what "Aqebat" meant (is it just "The End" or more like "the Afterlife"?) we coined the phrase "laughterlife". Because certainly, "in the end", when Mr. Space's imagination (of which we are all a figment) laughs, the universe will be propelled into the "laughterlife".

The point is, this English phrase for the concept of "laughterlife" (an afterlife in which there is much laughter) inevitably came out of playing with Persian words by bi-lingual people.

May these magnet kits also provide you with a rich laughterlife.

  • When you do what you can do in one language in the other, that's "translation." "Bilingual innovation" is when you do things you can't do in the other language, or that you need to tweak understanding of both languages for.
